Full Text: Our household air conditioning systems often run daily in South Texas without ever being noticed until something goes wrong.  The number of hours that our systems run if compared to a car could put Ill over a 500,000 miles on any air conditioning system over its life.   The fact that they can get that many of hours of runtime is impressive.  During the course of that runtime, our systems are continually removing or adding heat by moving air across a cold or hot surface.  When that airflow is restricted because of dirt, algae, filters, ductwork or fan speeds your system capacity gets reduced.  Preventive maintenance is always a good idea to check for cleanliness, proper voltage, mechanical failures or even just that your unit is draining properly.  Many failures can be caught and corrected before they are even noticed with proper maintenance.

New tools on the market have alloId technicians in the field to be exposed to test data from a system that was once only available in near laboratory conditions.  I can now hook up tools that will tell us exactly how your system is operating, calculate your total system capacity, and even help with identifying possible problems.  This reports can be invaluable in understanding your home climate.
